  1. Basically, we can't compare books and movies... And I can't stop wondering why people try to do so! It's completely different to read a book and to watch a movie... Nevertheless, I've found an article about this - follow http://bigessaywriter.com/blog/books-vs-movies-what-is-more-suspenseful to get familiar with this topic!

    1. Comparing books and movies, to me, is fascinating. It's the telling of one story, by different people, over two completely different mediums. What one can tell in a book, cannot so easily be done in a movie, and it is how the movie decides to tell that same idea or concept in its own form -whether they succeed or fail- that so intrigues me.
We *can* compare books and movies. They are completely different experiences, but that's what makes the comparison so interesting. Which scene was more effective in the book? The movie? Do we connect better with the characters onscreen or on the page?
Take The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, for example. Though based on the short story by James Thurber, the film completely took on a life of its own. And it's FANTASTIC! Even though it bears only a passing resemblance to the short story, it does a magnificent job of effectively portraying Mitty's daydreams on the screen. I prefer the movies, too, (especially the 2013 version) because Mitty grows and develops over the course of it, something that doesn't happen in the short story.
I understand that not everyone likes to compare books and movies -some people don't even watch films based on books they liked!- but it is something that I love to do. Many people believe 100% that the book is always better than the movie, no matter what, but I have found that isn't always true for me.
In short, THAT is why I still compare books and movies.
