About Me

A ‘wordbender’ is a writer who watches too much Avatar: The Last Airbender. In the show, ‘bending’ is the art of manipulating the elements. Since my element is the written word, and since I’m a total fangirl, it seemed the obvious fit.

Though I did not take the title of Wordbender until a few years ago, I have been writing for over 15 years. When I was 9, I decided I would be an author when I grew up. My goal has never wavered.

Middle-grade fantasy is my one great love, though I get the occasional itch for poetry or YA and adult fiction.

In addition to writing, I review books, watch too much television, and fangirl over both. I learn just as much about storytelling and characters from TV as I do books, so you'll often see me dissect my favorites here. Movie quotes are my spice of life and corny jokes delicacies.
You can find me on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Goodreads.

I also review books and vlog about them on my YouTube channel.
