Shelf Control #2 | Vicious by V.E. Schwab

Shelf Control
hosted by Lisa @ Bookshelf Fantasies
Shelf Control is all about the books we want to read — and already own! Consider this a variation of a Wishing & Waiting post… but looking at books already available, and in most cases, sitting right there on our shelves and e-readers.

Synopsis (via Goodreads):
Victor and Eli started out as college roommates—brilliant, arrogant, lonely boys who recognized the same sharpness and ambition in each other. In their senior year, a shared research interest in adrenaline, near-death experiences, and seemingly supernatural events reveals an intriguing possibility: that under the right conditions, someone could develop extraordinary abilities. But when their thesis moves from the academic to the experimental, things go horribly wrong. Ten years later, Victor breaks out of prison, determined to catch up to his old friend (now foe), aided by a young girl whose reserved nature obscures a stunning ability. Meanwhile, Eli is on a mission to eradicate every other super-powered person that he can find—aside from his sidekick, an enigmatic woman with an unbreakable will. Armed with terrible power on both sides, driven by the memory of betrayal and loss, the archnemeses have set a course for revenge—but who will be left alive at the end?

How I got it:
I bought this one for my Nook. On sale even. *win*

When I got it:
Uncertain. Either late 2015 or early 2016

Why I want to read it:
For a while, everyone in the booktube community was talking this book up. It's supposed to be fantastic and, after reading the synopsis, I knew I had to read it. At first, I thought my problem was not being able to find a copy. This is one of the more expensive books I've seen and I didn't have the money to dish out on something I didn't already know I'd love. Even after I got it discounted, I haven't sat down to read it yet. :P

What book do you own that you need to finally just read already?

  2. Mistborn - Brandon Sanderson
Been busy reading mysteries; put most of the fantasy books on hold.
    (Sort of new at them)
Got it from a used bookstore: 3 bucks
Got it on audiobooks: daily deal- $3.95

I have 2 book cases full of unread books. Kind of discouraging that after climbing Mt. Everest, you still have Mt. Murderhorn left to scale.

    1. Mistborn is fantastic! I hope you love it! I like a good mystery, but I have trouble finding good one sometimes. Any recommendations?
Good luck with all those unread books!
Have you really climbed Mt. Everest? Cause that's awesome.
